Beyond the Dish specializes in baking wholesome, handmade dog treats made from fresh, organically grown vegetables and ingredients. Instead of filling our dog treats with baking powder, corn meal and artificial flavorings, we stuff our treats full of all-natural ingredients such as unsalted peanut butter, fresh bananas and honey. Each specially handcrafted dog treat contains natural sources of vitamins and minerals that are beneficial to the health of your dog.

My dog Ollie, a five-year-old Puggle, is allergic to just about everything in the dog food isle because he, like many other dogs, has an extremely sensitive stomach. Dog food after dog food and treat after treat caused Ollie to get sick, resulting in trip after trip to the veterinarian. Finally, I had had enough of watching my dog constantly be in pain. So I picked up my apron, mixing bowl and spatula and began experimenting in my own kitchen with different types of organic vegetables, fruits, and gluten and wheat free flour to create homemade, healthy dog treats that Ollie can enjoy without the aches and pains. But I couldn’t stop there. I had always wanted healthier dog treats for my dogs and I finally found a way to give Ollie and Bindi the nutrition that they need.

So I kept experimenting in the kitchen. Both of my parents have experience creating new dishes in the kitchen. My mom works with cakes professionally and my dad is an expert chef. I on the other hand, have had no experience. So I rolled up my sleeves and began playing around with more fruits and vegetables and did a little research to see what other ingredients could be used that are healthy for dogs. I learned to avoid wheat flour, cornmeal and soy because these are the most common ingredients that dogs are allergic to. After countless hours in the kitchen and even more broken dog treats (Ollie and Bindi loved the mess-ups), I have come up with a vast variety of delicious and nutritious dog treats that truly are, Beyond the Dish.
